International parcels can run into customs holds, loss, or transit damage. To give buyers extra peace of mind, RizzitGO offers optional shipping insurance that you can add when you submit a shipment order. Here is a clear breakdown of what it covers, how claims work, and what it costs.
What RizzitGO Insurance covers
- Customs seizure: if your package is held by customs, compensation is provided based on the package condition and the applicable compensation standards.
- Loss or damage in transit: if your package is lost or damaged on the way, compensation is provided based on the package condition and standards. Under normal circumstances, full compensation is generally provided.
How compensation is calculated
If an insured shipment is lost, damaged, delayed, or seized by customs, compensation is based on the actual shipping cost plus the actual value of the goods.
For claims involving items missing from inside the parcel, a complete unboxing video is required. If the outer packaging is damaged, record the unboxing so you can support your claim. Without such video evidence, claims are handled at RizzitGO's discretion.
What is not covered
- Delays caused by force majeure — pandemics, severe weather, or war in the origin, transit, or destination country.
- Customs inspections where the recipient does not cooperate with clearance or tax payment, failed deliveries, or parcels not collected in time.
- Loss or damage caused by the recipient, and parcels returned to overseas warehouses or destroyed by carriers because delivery was not accepted in time.
Insurance fee
The insurance fee is 8% of the total value (goods value + shipping cost). Except in special circumstances, the fee is non-withdrawable. If a full compensation or refund is issued, the insurance fee is deducted because it has already been used, so you receive 92% of the total amount.
